Creative Tidbits #230: Classic Fonts Poster, Comic Sans replacement, 404 and more!

Fred Showker's Creative tidbits

Of course we always like to watch the masters, and see what they are up to -- so I saw this Steven Heller piece and had to pass it along. The guys at Pushpin Studios have been at the top of the game for fifty years and we can all learn a lesson or two from them. We also mix it up a bit in this episode with a good fonts item and an essential web design resource. Have fun!

335: I've been stung by the Copyright bee. Believe me, that bee sting hurts!

For nearly three decades, I've invited readers to send in their images and referrals to share with DTG readers. It became so popular, and so beneficial for the sender, I got too comfortable with it and even stopped saving the paper trail. Bad decision. A reader sent in a photo some time ago, and in January, we decided to show it in an article in our Gallery. In May we got an email demanding we remove it, claiming ownership. So we removed it and thought all was well. But all was not well, and here's the rest of the story. June 8, 2017

60-Seconds #341 : Is this really necessary? What are they thinking?

Have you revisited a site from your past recently? Were you shocked at what you found? At one point I stopped tracking spam sites. They had ALL become spam sites. But then, while researching the new iPad Pro, Google referred me to the site of an old friend "Cult of Mac", so I clicked to go there ... there was a loud whooshing sound as it took my breath away! WTF is THIS? April 2, 2017
